Jr Observer & Shooter
Seismic system operation and system maintenance for well velocity surveys, As a shooter was responsible for the loading capping and priming shot holes for land seismic surveys. Off road vehicle operations in desert conditions.
Gravity and magnetics system operation, data collection, survey chain man and off road vehicle operations in mountainous areas in Colorado. Side line of horse wrangling.
GSI Dallas play back centre. Play back of Magnadisk, SIE and Techno analogue data tapes for static picking and plotting of static corrected data. Responsible for seismic data play back system maintenance and operation.
Trouble shooting seismic instrument systems ,electronic support systems and navigation systems. The commissioning and rigging of land and marine seismic crews . Travel to crews for on site trouble shooting and repair.
Offshore 2D & 3D deep water marine operations:

Party Manager
Responsible for survey vessels over all operation. This encompassed liaison with charter companies ships crew, vessel maintenance at sea and ship yard. Vessel manoeuvring in busy sea ways to protect vessel and towed equipment arrays. Vessel supplies and provisioning. Seismic crew training in safety, good seismic practices and position advancement in the corporate structure. Survey planing with client and client relations as to chargeable and non-chargeable activities. Maintaining the daily and monthly production records and production targets set by shore management.
Assistant Party Manager
To assist the Party Manager with vessel manoeuvring in busy sea ways to protect vessel and towed equipment arrays. Responsible for inventory control of expendable items, replacement equipment parts and local purchase item control. Also to ensure that general onboard maintenance was carried out.
Instrument Engineer Seismic and Navigation Systems.
Responsible for the maintenance, repair and calibration of the seismic and navigation instrumentation systems to the manufacturers specification. Client relations in the pre-acceptance running of system quality control tests.
Observer
Day to day running of the seismic system and streamer repair work. One step up from general dogs body.
Roles:
Survey design, planning and parameter selection. - Client representation for 2D, 3D, 4D & OBC seismic surveys, site surveys, rig moves and platform template locations. - Navigation chain planning and calibration. - Contractor and bid evaluation. - Joint venture set up and vessel rigging. - Transport and logistics manager. - Contract Party Chief for emerging national companies. - Liaison with government departments for new ventures in virgin areas.
